Skin cancer news:
"Biphasic PDT" a new non-invasive treatment for skin cancer was developed at this clinic. Dr Stephens was invited to present this treatment at the World Congress of Dermatology in Milan in 2019.
Since then, his work has been peer-reviewed and is now published in the Journal of the European Academy of Dermatology & Venereology (JEADV) .
See the publication here. Details of this treatment are described here.
A referral to Dr Stephens is needed for this treatment.
The major transmitter of Covid is from inhaled airborne particles, not from surfaces. Masks are important!
Please note that at the start of the Covid-19 problem, we implemented some changes to our practice in the interests of safety for all those who attend as well as staff. Fortunately, the risk of infection is now extremely low but we will stick to the changes for a while yet.
Bookings are more spaced to respect social distancing in the waiting room. A benefit of this is that skin cancers can often be diagnosed and removed in the one appointment.
Please do not attend if you are feeling unwell with any respiratory symptoms, fatigue or fever.
We also insist that you attend either alone or only with one other (e.g. with a carer or translator)
Other family members or friends will not be allowed into the consulting rooms.
Unless your child is the patient, please arrange that they are minded elsewhere.
We provide hand sanitiser that must be used once you enter the rooms.
Most staff that you encounter will be wearing face-masks. This is now our routine practice and is done for your safety. Please do not feel intimidated.
